FIGHT
CAST OR EVADE
FEATURED
LINK OF THE INDETERMINATE TIME-PERIOD

Phillip
M. Jackson's Sequential Art
is a wide collection of demons, and Ebaying penguins, and photographer
catgirls, and idiot-savant squirrels. All torturing the
graphic
designer who lets them live in his apartment. The art is
clean and
crisp, and the writing is top-notch.

"Dead"
but worthy
Webcomics:
The ephemeral nature of the Internet allows creations to come and go as
their creator pleases. Unlike syndicated comics, when a
webcomic
writer and artist tires of the story he is telling, he can end it
before it goes into some horrible creative tailspin, destroying any
good memories the readers might have and replacing them with bitter
regret and accusations of "Hack!" Alternately, the story
being
told may have a finite number of episodes and when the story is told,
that's it. In every instance, the creator is free to begin
again
with a new story, or take his previous characters and begin
again. Examples of all of these can be found in the links
below. Even though these strips no longer update, they're
worth
the time you spend reading the archives.

AstroNerdBoy's
Comics:
A whompin' big list of comics on the Web.
The
Belfry Webworks:
A wide variety of furry (anthropomorphic/talking animals) and non-furry
webcomics, furry fiction, and other stuff. (FCE
is a
readers' favorite!)
Comixpedia:
As they say, they're all about the webcomics. I used to do
monthly reviews for them, some of which generated quite the stir.
Flayrah.com:
Another furry site, and this one covers all the bases from fandom to
art to real live animal news.
OnlineComics.net:
A large list of online serial comics.

The
Comic Book Legal Defense
Fund: Comics have been
described as one of only two genuine
American art forms (jazz being the other). Unbelieveable as
it
may sound, there are still people out there who think that comics are
dangerous, morally corrupting, and a source of evil that must be
stopped. Help defend the freedom of expression against the
forces
of darkness! Support the CBLDF!
Boneville,
home of
Jeff Smith's Bone.
Arguably the best comic books
ever. If you read it, you know what I'm talking
about. If
you don't, what are you waiting for?
Usagi
Yojimbo,
by Stan Sakai. The ronin Miyamoto Usagi travels through
fuedal
Japan. An excellent comic, especially for those tired of
superheroes, and a definite influence on my work, even if it doesn't
show, much.
Tall
Tails: Thieves' Quest,
by J.D. Calderon and Daphne
Lage. This book is everything I would want Fight
Cast Or Evade
to be if I actually had drawing talent and wanted to take FCE
into book format. A band of adventurers, led by the paladin
Ravenwood, search for a stolen magical seal during a war between the
trolls and the rats.
Tellos,
by Todd
Dezago and Mike Wieringo. Like Tall
Tails above, this
book is very close to what I would do with FCE
if I had the
time, patience, and talent to do book-length comics. It's a
fantasy-adventure series about a world that is a patchwork of other
worlds, filled with elves, humans, dragons, and lots of anthopomorphic
animals.
